Demo-BLog meets for General Assembly at TU Delft

On 8 and 9 April, partners of the Demo-BLog project gathered in Delft for one of the last General Assemblies of the project before its conclusion in December 2026. The meeting was hosted by TU Delft and provided a valuable opportunity to take stock of progress, align on next steps, and meet with the advisory board.

What was on the agenda?

The discussions focused on the continued development of Digital Building Logbooks (DBLs) and their role in supporting a more transparent, data-driven approach to the renovation and decarbonisation of Europe’s building stock. Partners shared updates on technical work, including progress within key work packages, as well as insights from ongoing pilot activities.

During the meeting with the project’s advisory board, BPIE presented the policy roadmap it has developed for the implementation of DBLs across Europe. The board members provided feedback on the document and recognised the relevance of the roadmap in the current political context. The meeting also included a debrief on the status of each Demo-BLog pilot, as well as a lively discussion on end-of-project recommendations. Partners looked ahead to the final phase of the project, discussing dissemination activities and the upcoming final conference. The meeting also featured a presentation by Woningpas, on the latest developments of their community-driven decarbonisaton platform. s.

One of the highlights of the meeting was an inspirational visit to The Green Village, TU Delft’s living lab for sustainable innovation. This real-world testing ground allows new technologies and solutions for the built environment to be developed and demonstrated in practice. The guided walk offered valuable insights into how digitalisation, energy systems, and sustainable construction approaches are being applied on the ground.

Key takeaways

  • DBLs are advancing as practical tools to support renovation planning and data accessibility
  • Pilot activities continue to provide valuable real-world insights for refining technical solutions
  • Strong alignment with EU policy frameworks remains essential to ensure impact and scalability

Next steps

  • Finalise and consolidate technical outputs across work packages
  • Prepare for the final conference and dissemination of results
  • Translate project findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders

Overall, the General Assembly in Delft marked an important milestone for the project. It reinforced the strong collaboration among partners and provided renewed momentum as the project moves towards its final stages, with a clear focus on delivering impactful results for the future of Europe’s buildings.
